serious-ly

I don't know what is it about my serious face, that i love it.

it is certainly the lack of sentiment on my expression
or maybe that it looks like i am always waiting for something to happen, for something to be excptionally surprising.

i actually think that serious faces are sometimes prettier and more realistic than smiling ones.

i dont know why this is,

i just know the fact that everyone is serious most of the time and when photographed, people tend to be shy, and maybe that is why they smile, just like that, just to hide what they were feeling or thinking or what they do not want you to know about them.

on the contrary, serious faces are the most honest ones, you can see through them, you can tell a story, you can see if there is something broken inside. and usually, there is.

if there is light or there is darkness.

serious portraits are the only way to see what is, not only, in the mind of the person but in his or her soul, like you can actually understand the person for a second, a whole second,
like if what you are seeing was an actual reflection, a complete nudity,

maybe the reason why i like my serious face is because it is a moment of honesty with myself,
or with the world.

or it is just maybe  because i don't like my smile.

:)
